Reader's Theatre
Readers Theatre program is an engaging and interactive experience designed for students in grades 6 to 8 who are second language learners. Please note that students should have the ability to read English to fully participate in the program. This week-long program focuses on improving language skills—reading, speaking, and listening—through the exciting medium of performance.
Key activities include:
Script Selection: Students will choose from a variety of age-appropriate scripts that capture their interests, fostering a love for reading and storytelling.
Rehearsals: Guided practice sessions will allow students to focus on expression, pronunciation, and fluency, helping them gain confidence in their speaking abilities.
Performances: Students will perform their scripts for peers, providing a platform to showcase their skills and receive constructive feedback.
Reflection and Discussion: Daily discussions will encourage students to reflect on their learning experiences, enhancing comprehension and critical thinking.
By participating in this program, students will not only develop essential language skills but also enjoy a collaborative and creative environment that promotes teamwork and self-expression.
