Frosty Senses Winter Camp
The Frosty Senses Winter Camp is specially designed for kindergarten and first-grade students to build foundational language skills through engaging vocabulary-building activities. Throughout the week, students participate in multi-sensory exercises that encourage expressive language development, such as describing different fabric and fur textures in small groups. These activities also foster social skills as children take turns asking questions, answering, and discussing recently learned content with their peers.
In addition to vocabulary enrichment, the camp incorporates winter-themed songs and chants that feature onomatopoeia, which strengthens students’ phonological awareness through rhyming and playful repetition. This musical approach supports early literacy by making language fun and memorable. Hands-on sensory crafts, including making snow and snow globes, further enhance children’s fine and gross motor skills, which are essential for developing writing abilities.
Overall, the Frosty Senses Winter Camp provides a comprehensive and immersive experience that combines language, social interaction, and motor skill development. This holistic approach ensures that young learners not only expand their vocabulary but also gain confidence in communication and coordination, laying a strong foundation for their future academic success.
