---Learning Writing with Roald Dahl
In this imaginative course, two teachers, one for Chinese and one for English, will guide students on an in-depth exploration of Roald Dahl's classic literary world. We will closely read the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, experiencing how this great writer uses words to construct a fantastic and enchanting chocolate kingdom.
Building on close reading, the course will employ inquiry-based activities and immersive scenario writing to spark students' creativity and passion for writing. By analyzing the vivid characters in the book, students will learn how to create roles with personality and depth. Whether it's the kind-hearted Charlie or the greedy Augustus, each character embodies unique writing techniques. The teachers will guide students to explore these techniques in depth and encourage them to apply what they have learned to their own creative writing.
This is not just a literary journey, but a creative leap forward. In this course, students will discover their unique writing voices and embark on a magical adventure in literary creation.
