"Learn Writing with Roald Dahl"
— Fun Bilingual Reading and Writing Camp
In this imaginative course, two teachers—one Chinese and one English—will join forces to guide students through the classic literary world of Roald Dahl. We'll start with captivating chapters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, delving into the text word by word to experience how this great writer constructs a fantastical and enchanting chocolate kingdom with his words.
Building on this in-depth reading, the course will employ interactive games and immersive scenario-based teaching methods to spark students' creativity and passion for writing. By analyzing the vivid characters in the book, students will learn how to create characters with personality and depth. Whether it's the kind-hearted Charlie or the gluttonous Augustus, each character embodies unique writing techniques. Teachers will lead students to explore these techniques and encourage them to apply what they've learned to their own creations.
At the same time, students will have the opportunity to write their own character story snippets. They can freely unleash their imaginations to create their own fantasy worlds and unique characters. Whether it's a brave adventurer or a mysterious magician, each character will carry the creativity and emotions of the students.
This is not just a literary journey but a leap of creativity. By closely reading the classics, learning writing techniques, and creating their own stories, students will find their own writing voice in this course and embark on a magical literary creation adventure.
