Wearable Electronics Workshop

Wearable Devices Design Workshop

This 7-day Keystone Summer Workshop for grades 10–12 requires no prior electronics or design experience. Led by Jing Chang—architect and computational designer with degrees from the University of Hong Kong and Harvard GSD, plus expertise in digital design, AI workflows, and embodied interaction—participants explore where design meets engineering. Using wearable devices as the core project, students discover how low-voltage electronics, sensors, and computing integrate into everyday objects, while developing concept design, human-centered thinking, and rapid prototyping skills.

The program runs mornings on concept introduction and case studies, afternoons on hands-on making and testing under Jing's guidance, culminating in a project showcase and simulated college design review on Day 7. Drawing from the instructor's doctoral research in spatial computing and human-centered intelligence, students gain technical insights beyond conventional training.

Each student completes a functional prototype and portfolio-grade documentation with high-quality visuals and design statements—powerful assets for applications to the top global institutions.
