The Spring Equinox is upon us. The days get longer, the air slowly becomes warmer, and the height of spring will be on its way.

As families begin planning for the months ahead, many are looking for more than a full schedule. They want a summer that nurtures growth, expands horizons, and leaves a lasting impression.

Keystone Academy’s Summer Archway Programs are designed with that goal in mind.

2.jpg

Building on the strengths of previous years, this summer’s programs offer a broader perspective and deeper engagement. Students will learn closely with Keystone teachers, experiencing the school’s curriculum in action. They will also work with professors from leading global universities and experts across disciplines—stepping beyond the classroom into forests and valleys, exploring science, history, literature, art, athletics, and more. Each program is an invitation to discover new interests and to see learning in a different light.

In the Master Camp, students engage in focused academic inquiry and advanced practice alongside professors from top American liberal arts colleges, mentors from Ivy League institutions, and faculty from the University of Cambridge. Through dialogue at the intersection of theory and real-world application, students experience the rigor and depth of university-level thinking.

For middle and high school students, Keystone’s experienced educators, working with specialists from diverse fields, create an interactive and practice-driven learning environment. Through open exploration, collaborative projects, and hands-on challenges, students expand their perspectives and clarify their interests.

For younger learners, Keystone has designed age-appropriate academic and experiential projects. Through programs that combine play with structured exploration, children build confidence in a safe and inclusive setting. They develop curiosity, independence, and a genuine enjoyment of learning.

Keystone’s summer programs are not short-term training courses, nor are they surface-level experiences. They are grounded, thoughtful explorations guided by dedicated educators. Students are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, and discover their own strengths.

In the summer of 2026, Keystone welcomes students back to campus, for a season of growth, challenge, and discovery.

Get ready for a summer of high-flying fun, fast-paced action, and fantastic teamwork! Welcome to our Ultimate Frisbee Camp – where spirit, sport, and sunshine come together.

Ultimate Frisbee isn’t just a game; it’s an experience built on energy, respect, and connection. Played with a flying disc on an open field (or indoor ultimate if the weather is not ok to play long), it combines the non-stop movement of soccer, the aerial strategy of football, and the graceful flow of basketball—all without any referees! That’s right, players make the calls, which means honesty, communication, and good sportsmanship are at the heart of every match.

Whether you’re picking up a disc for the first time or you already love to throw, this camp is for you. You’ll learn the essentials—from crisp forehand and backhand throws to making layout catches—while building fitness, agility, and game sense. More importantly, you’ll make new friends, laugh a lot, and become part of a supportive and spirited community.

So, grab your sneakers, sunscreen, and a smile. Let’s launch an unforgettable summer together—one throw, one sprint, and one great moment at a time!

The Film Crew Camp

Program dates: July 6-17 (Monday to Friday), 08:30-15:20

Enrollees: Current G6-G8

The Film Crew Camp is a two-week course where students in Grades 6-9 dive into the exciting world of filmmaking. They start by learning the core principles of simple storytelling and film structure, turning their creative ideas into a working script. Next, they get practical, hands-on experience using the studio’s camera equipment, mastering basic operation, shooting techniques, and scene composition.

This year, the camp has evolved to include a collection of props and costumes, encouraging more imaginative and playful filmmaking. Students transition to post-production, where they learn essential editing skills to cut their footage, layer in sound and music, and finalize their projects. By the end of the camp, each student will have collaborated with peers to produce their own short film, gaining foundational skills in both production and editing along the way.

Welcome to a Five-Day MYP Math Exploration. This program is built for two types of students: incoming MYP newcomers and current MYP students who need to dig deeper into how math works here. Wherever you’re starting, we’ll help you find your footing through engaging, hands-on learning. We systematically unpack the four MYP math assessment criteria, blending academic vocabulary building, rubric deep-dives, practical activities, and peer feedback—rebuilding your confidence and core skills through real-world contexts. Daily gamified review and software-assisted exercises keep energy high, but the heart of each session remains paper-based problem solving, collaborative teamwork, and reflective evaluation, ensuring you rediscover both mastery and joy in math through writing things out and bouncing ideas off others.

This isn’t just content preview or gap-filling—it’s a full rehearsal for how MYP learning actually works. You’ll experience (or re-experience) inquiry-based classrooms, project-style assessments, and global contexts firsthand. You’ll learn to express logic clearly in mathematical language, navigate team dynamics, and transform past confusion into steppingstones for progress. Join us for this supportive, discovery-filled journey into MYP mathematics. Whatever your starting point, you’ll step forward ready to embrace the full possibilities of secondary school math with genuine confidence.

Studying Romeo & Juliet isn’t just about reading a classic—it’s about diving deep into one of the most powerful stories ever written. By analyzing Shakespeare’s language, symbolism, and character choices, we will uncover layers of meaning about love, conflict, fate, and rebellion that still feel shockingly relevant today. Every line holds clues, every scene raises questions, and every decision pushes the tragedy forward. Going in-depth transforms the play from a familiar tale into an intense, thought-provoking experience—one that challenges us to think critically and see how words can shape emotions, choices, and entire worlds. This process will help students reach greater depth when approaching literary work and learn to appreciate language.

A Close Reading of Classical Literary Works

Program dates: July 6-24 (Monday to Friday), 08:30-15:20

Enrollees: Current G6-G8

In summers past, our classic literature close reading courses flowed like cool springs—refreshing young minds and earning praise from students and parents alike. In this fertile literary soil, children absorbed rich nourishment while sharpening their analytical lens, laying solid groundwork for the rigorous demands of DP-level literary study.

This summer, we embark anew. Our journey turns to where China’s vast territories meet the wider world. We begin with Shen Congwen’s Border Town and Random Sketches of Travels in Hunan—lyrical portraits of western Hunan’s river towns. We travel north to Li Juan’s The Remote Corner of Altay and Winter Pasture, intimate chronicles of Kazakh herders on the northern frontier. From Chi Zijian comes The Right Bank of the Argun River, an epic of the Evenki people and their disappearing way of life. We roam with San Mao through Stories of the Sahara and Traveling Far and Wide, then follow Huang Yongyu’s artistic pilgrimage Along the Seine to Florence. Finally, we arrive at Orhan Pamuk’s Istanbul: Memories of a City—nine masterworks of Chinese and world literature, flowing together with nonfiction texts like tributaries forming one great river of discovery.

In our inquiry-driven classroom, we cultivate close reading skills and the discipline of reading entire books—deepening students’ sensitivity to life’s textures while exploring how “life is at once extraordinarily grand and utterly ordinary.” Through examining connections across landscapes, cultures, and narrative perspectives, students discover how the epic and the everyday intertwine. They internalize the essence of language and literature, developing fluency in interpretation, analysis, and evaluation within the IB Language and Literature framework—letting literature’s light illuminate their path forward.
