Weekly Message from Head of School 2023/06/25-2023/07/01
Dear Keystonians,
Happy Friday! We’ve made it to summer holiday 2023!
This final week of school was filled with adventures and celebrations. Our 11th graders returned from their OEP trip early in the week and we had a Service Fair, celebrating the countless ways that our students have applied their learning to make real changes in their communities. Friday, we had celebratory divisional and grade level assemblies across the school as we gathered to honor our shared time together this year.
Earlier this afternoon, as our residential students were moving out of their dorm rooms for the summer, the employees met in the Performing Arts Center to close the academic year and celebrate our colleagues who are moving on to new adventures. I shared with them good news about how Keystone has weathered the last few years at the institutional level. The headlines are very positive: We continue to have high demand for enrollment, strong financial position and a beautiful, and fully open campus. Also, we have been very successful in our recruitment and retention efforts for faculty for the 23-24 school year. The opening of the borders has allowed us to resume our international recruitment of faculty, leaders and students. We are proud that, in each of those categories, there is strong interest in coming to Keystone. This is a wonderful place to learn and grow, as much for educators as it is for our students.
While today is the official close of the school year, we know that summer does not mean a pause on learning and growth. Starting this week, we also have students all over the world on Global Program Trips. And soon we will begin our Summer Archway Programs which allow students from Keystone and other schools to continue to flourish, thrive, and play in this beautiful place.
Thank you to each of you. This has been an amazing year that has had many twists, turns, transitions and transformations. Keystone Academy is in an extraordinary position as we conclude this 9th school year and look towards our 10th! I wish you and your families a rejuvenating time for the next two months!
Until then, with enduring gratitude,
Emily
