Dean of Admission's Blog

Student Experience Series #1

This is the first blog in a series that highlights the day-to-day experiences of our students. We hope to give you some insight into the life and the lessons our students experience each day at Keystone. To this end, we are creating short videos as “windows” into the life of our students.

Our first post comes from one of our grade seven English language acquisition classes. One of the goals of the IB’s Middle Year’s Program (MYP) is to help our student’s connect their learning to their own lives in meaningful ways. The more we can help middle school students to make that connection, the more invested they will be in the learning process.

In this video, Angie Bergeson, an English teacher from the United States, shares a sample lesson with us that highlights the students understanding of literature, and art, and the act of expressing meaning through both mediums. The students end their unit of study by creating an artistic representation of their own lives, all while practicing and developing their English language skills.

We hope you enjoy this window into the Keystone experience and come back to see future posts as well!
