Keystone in the Media
Standing before The Hotchkiss School’s Graduation Class of 2013, Mr. Malcolm McKenzie, the then Head of School, left the 174 soon-to-be graduates with two gifts, one of which included a poem titled ‘one time.’ Mr. McKenzie told the Seniors that the poem content “encapsulates our knowledge that each and every meeting is unique and transient, but although all moments vanish quickly they do, if engaged with completely, contain an aspect that is forever,” and was written especially for them.
Before assuming his post as the Founding Head of School at Keystone Academy, Mr. McKenzie completed six years as the 12th Head of the Hotchkiss School. In his years at Hotchkiss, what legacy did he leave with this legendary American school? What lasting memories did he leave? What inspirations toward education, life, and the world has Mr. McKenzie received from his 20 years of experience as Head of School for schools in 3 continents? To show its respect for and to reflect on Mr. McKenzie’s time at Hotchkiss, the school featured an article about him in the Hotchkiss Magazine, Spring 2013 edition.
