Meet The Admission Team

A graduate of Johns Hopkins and Georgetown universities, Chris McColl spent seven years working at St. Albans School and National Cathedral School in Washington, DC before moving to London, where he spent 10 years as a teacher and administrator at the American School in London. At these schools, he taught English, history, and math, and served as an advisor, grade leader, summer program director, financial aid manager, curriculum committee chair, and admission officer. Prior to joining Keystone, he spent 13 years as Director of Admissions at Hackley School, a K-12 day and boarding school just outside New York City. Mr. McColl has presented at professional conferences in the United States and Europe on numerous topics including parent engagement, data management, and the assessment of character in admission work.

Wei Zheng received her BA in Chinese Language and Literature from Anhui University, and her Masters in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from Beijing Normal University. Upon graduation, Ms. Zheng was selected by the Hanban to teach Chinese at The Hotchkiss School in the U.S., where she was exposed to an elite-boarding school environment and had the opportunity to learn about the differences between the Chinese and Western education systems. From her interactions with Hotchkiss students from around the world, and especially with Chinese students, Ms. Zheng understood students’ lives outside their home country to pursue an elite education. This understanding of Chinese students inspired Ms. Zheng to return to China in August 2013. She is excited to have a positive impact on Chinese students through her work as an assistant dean of admission at Keystone.

Tingting Xu comes to Keystone Academy after eight years in the admission department at Harrow International School Beijing, where she was immersed in all aspects of school life. She was a founding member of the school where she and her peers established the admission department in 2005. Ms. Xu received her BA in Marketing and Business Administration, with honors, from Assumption University in Thailand. She also studied Psychology as a minor, an area in which she has strong interest. At Keystone, Ms. Xu works as an Assistant Dean of Admission, where she brings a wealth of professional admission and marketing-related experience. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her son Eddy and travelling around the world with her family.

Ying Yang joined the Keystone admission team in August 2013. Ms. Yang holds bachelor degrees in both English literature and Economics. She also holds Certification for Admission and Enrollment Professionals from the Association of Independent School Admission Professionals in the US. Prior to working at Keystone, Ms. Yang has worked at multinational companies in Beijing for several years and has rich cross culture working experience. Becoming a mother motivated her interest in education and working with children. Being bilingual in Chinese and English herself, she is a strong supporter of Keystone’s educational philosophy and hope that more children can benefit from this unique style of education. Ms. Yang also occasionally supports the students as a learning assistant in Primary School. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, swimming and traveling with her family.

Linn Sun joined Keystone as an Admission Counselor in July 2014. Ms. Sun comes to us from a joint-venture language training school, where she was responsible for teaching English and operations management. In this time, she deepened her understanding about the characteristics and needs of a wide age-group of Chinese students, specifically as it relates to English language learning. Ms. Sun has a Masters in Educational Administration from Rivier University in New Hampshire, U.S. Her experiences in the U.S. include an administrative internship at an American elementary school, which gives her a unique perspective on education principles within and outside China. Ms. Sun is passionate about education and community service. In her free time, she and her son work with underprivileged children.

Anny Jiang holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. Prior to Keystone Academy she worked in two other International Schools in Beijing, which gives her more than 11 years of marketing and admission experience in International education. Her career started from Raffles-BIFT International College where she worked as an Admission and Marketing Executive for 8.5 years. In 2012 she joined Beijing Yew Chung Education Foundation as a Senior Admissions officer. Hired as a founding team member, she worked on implementing admission policies for a new International Scool. She has witnessed the rapid growth of International Schools in China for the past 10 years and possesses intimate knowledge of International education. Her experience covers early childhood right up to higher education. At Keystone Academy, she looks forward to helping children and parents see the value of combining International and Traditional Chinese education. Outside of work Anny enjoys reading and travel.

Steven Liang graduated from the University of Wuhan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chinese Literature (2007). Shortly afterwards, he obtained a Masters degree in Marketing from Ecole de Commerce de La Rochelle in France. In 2011, he returned to Beijing and worked in the Marketing Department at Beijing City International School. In 2013, Steven joined Keystone Academy as a founding member of the Marketing and Communications Department. In that role, he was responsible for building Keystone's brand in China and maintaining its media relationship with the public. In October 2018, Steven joined the academy's Admissions Department.

Before joining Keystone Academy in September 2021, Sonia has had a long career with Immigration New Zealand in multiple positions, including as an Immigration Officer, Technical Advisor and Immigration Manager, including a two-year period working in New Zealand. She has strong work ethic and maintains a high standard across a wide range of disciplines. Sonia received her Bachelor Degree at the Beijing International Studies University and Postgraduate Certificate in Business at Auckland University of Technology. Sonia has two lovely daughters and is very passionate about education. She is excited about this opportunity working in Keystone and is keen to meet the new challenges with her years of experience in multi-culture environment and a wide range of adaptable skills. 

Echo Yan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language Arts - Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.  After graduation, Echo was selected by Hanban program to teach Chinese in Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna Chiangmai for two years. Prior to working at Keystone Academy, Echo has six years’ Admissions experience in two well-known bilingual schools in Beijing, acts as an Admission Manager. She knows international curriculum well and she is good at communication. Echo is very happy to bring her work experience to Keystone and willing to help families find their fit school.

Peggy Peng spent almost ten years studying and working abroad before retuning to Beijing. While studying in New Zealand, she tutored two Chinese girls aged 11 and 13. Ms. Peng returned to Beijing in 2008, and worked for a well-known global bank for six years, helping high-end clients with global banking services. During this time, she also became a mother to two beautiful children, Naomi and Melissa. As a mother, Ms. Peng became more aware of the educational environment in Beijing. She left her career in banking to join Keystone as an Administrative Assistant, where she supports parents through the application process, and manages the database. At Keystone, Ms. Peng hopes to explore solutions to the issues she now faces as a mother and endeavors to work diligently towards providing children with better educational opportunities, and a brighter future.

Vera Jiang holds a degree in Russian of China University of Petroleum. She went to Russia for exchange study during her university period. Prior to Keystone Academy, Vera worked in well-known bilingual schools in Beijing for several years, she is familiar with environment of international education, during that period, she was mainly responsible for management of Xueji, contact with Education Commission. Vera is good at communication, approachable and has a strong sense of responsibility. She will devote herself to the recruitment work of Keystone Academy with these qualities. In her spare time,  She enjoys sports, traveling and reading.

Summer Xia graduated from Heilongjiang University in 2009 with a major in Chinese for foreigners. After that, she went to the UK, York, England to study for a master's degree in applied linguistics. Before joining Keystone, Summer worked in Beijing Normal University as a primary school English teaching researcher and focus on teacher training for three years, and then she has many years work experience in a private bilingual school, engaged in enrollment and student status management. Summer has cross-cultural learning and work experiences. She is very excited about the challenges that will be faced by joining Keystone, and she is also very happy to bring her years of bilingual study and work experience to Keystone. Summer is also the mother of twin girls. Outside of work, she likes reading and traveling with the whole family.
